a short-term country escape. This cozy character filled cottage is
set amidst a rural village atmosphere. With surrounding country
gardens, you will feel right at home. Wineries, cellar doors and restaurants are all within an easy drive away.
The nearest cellar door is only a 5 min drive up the road and there are many more cellar doors to discover as
your road trip around on the scenic tourist routes throughout the region.

Visit nearby Historic Wollombi and Laguna, quaint country villages
that will take you back in time. Make your way to the central Pokolbin
winery district where the choices of restaurants and cellar doors are
endless. The Broke Fordwich winery area is also a local attraction
and offers many fine cellar doors and restaurants to visit.

‘Kurlew’ cottage offers three queen bedrooms with a spacious bathroom and powder room/laundry facility which has an additional toilet & vanity area. A cozy loungeroom and dining area opens straight out onto a charming outside pergola entertainment area. A large undercover entertainment area comes complete with an outdoor table setting and gas BBQ which overlooks the delightful gardens and lawn areas.

The private back yard is ideal for relaxing and unwinding, the perfect place to sit back and sip on your favourite fine wine acquired from your day’s outings in the vineyards! With all the creature comforts of home ‘Kurlew Cottage’ has reverse cycle air conditioning, beautiful old world timber floors, high ceilings and quality furnishings throughout. There is off street parking for two cars and space out the front for a third car to park. Easy pick up for transport for concerts etc… and there is a corner store located within walking distance. Cessnock township is located within an approximate 15 min drive where major town amenities are located.

Millfield is a rural village located within an approximate one hours drive to Newcastle and under two hours’ drive from the centre of Sydney. Garage is not available for guests use. There is a security camera located on the front porch.

PLEASE NOTE: Bedroom access is determined by guest numbers.  This allows smaller groups to enjoy our homes without needing to pay for unused space.  You will have the home to yourself and unneeded bedrooms will be locked or unneeded beds will not be made.  Please let us know if you would like a specific bedroom available or a bed made up.

Rates:

  • $300 per night min of 2 nights for 2 guests
  • $150 per person per night for any additional guests up to 4
  • Minimum 2 nights stay (min 3 nights on long weekends)
  • One nights are available on request
  • Check in: 3pm / Check out: 10am
  • These times only apply when we have back-to-back bookings.
